emTripLog is a generalization of the emission platform intended to be used by other researchers to conduct studies on human travel data. On first install, the app does not collect or transmit data. Once the user clicks the link or scans the QR code to join a study, she is asked to consent to the data collection and storage, and then the app begins functioning as desired.
At its core, the app represents an automatically sensed travel diary, constructed from background sensed location and accelerometer data. Other researchers can use this diary according to the behavior they wish to study. For example, if they are interested purely in observing behavior, they can display only the diary. If they are interested in modifying behavior, they can display data gleaned from the behavior. If they are interested in perceptions, they can allow users to provide contextual data about trips in the diary. For more details, see our TRB paper:

This is an open source project with issue tracking on GitHub. If you encounter an issue, please check https://github.com/e-mission/e-mission-docs/issues to see if it has already been reported.
- If so, please vote for it by choosing a reaction on the main bug description (e.g. http://people.eecs.berkeley.edu/~shankari/reactions_for_issues_on_github.png). That allows me to sort by reactions (e.g. http://people.eecs.berkeley.edu/~shankari/sort_by_reactions.png) and prioritize bug fixes accordingly.
- If not, please file a new issue.
Thank you for contributing issues to the project - yes, issues count as contributions to open source projects (https://opensource.guide/how-to-contribute/#opening-an-issue). If I don't know about problems, I can't fix them. Code and doc contributions through pull requests are also welcome! The repositories are at https://github.com/e-mission/
