The Employee Provident Fund Scheme India was enacted in the year 1952, replacing the Employee Provident Fund Ordinance, 1951. The EPF scheme is now known as the Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Act, 1952 and is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.
