This app calculates equivalent resistance of series/parallel circuits. It uses standard notation with "/" replacing "||" for ease of data entry (i.e. 4+3/5 instead of 4+3||5). This allows for quick entry on complicated series/parallel combinations of resistors. Very useful for students taking an introduction to circuits or physics course, as it allows the quick calculation of equivalent resistance without typing reciprocals into your calculator. Parenthesis are parsed properly, and the "/" operator takes precedence over the + operator. So 4+3/5 evaluates as 4+(3/5). For those unfamiliar with series/parallel notation, the + operator denotes two elements in series, while the / operator denotes 2 elements in parallel. So 4+3 means a 4 and a 3 ohm resistor are in series, 4/3 means a 4 and a 3 ohm resistor are in parallel, and 4/3+5 means a 4 and a 3 ohm resistor are in parallel, and that combination is in series with a 5 ohm resistor. Hope you enjoy, and let me know if you have any feedback on the app. I am very responsive to bug reports and feature requests.
