Eureka! Discovering cities - TARANTO è un software multilingua con scopi divulgativi, che permette di ricevere automaticamente notizie dettagliate sui monumenti presenti in città, visualizzandole sul display del proprio smartphone.
Caratteristica princiaple del è il riconoscimento, mediante l’utilizzo dei dati GPS, della posizione geografica dell’utente ed il suo continuo raffronto con quelle dei siti di importanza culturale.
Nelle immediate vicinanze di un monumento, il software fornisce automaticamente - mediante suoneria e vibrazione - una notifica della presenza di informazioni didattiche contenute nel suo archivio.
Un servizio attivo in background verifica continuamente se la posizione dell’utente è attigua ad un sito di rilevanza culturale, operando un confronto con le coordinate GPS dei monumenti censiti.
In caso affermativo, il programma invia una notifica all’utilizzatore, che potrà scegliere di aprire la scheda relativa al sito, corredata di testo descrittivo ed immagini.

Princiaple is characteristic of the recognition, through the use of GPS data, the user's geographical location and its continual comparison with the sites of cultural importance.
In the immediate vicinity of a monument, the software automatically provides - by ringtone and vibration - a notification of the presence of educational information contained in its archive.
A service running in the background constantly checks whether the user's location is adjacent to a site of cultural significance, comparing with the GPS coordinates of the monuments surveyed.
If so, the program notifies the user, who can choose to open the tab for the site, accompanied by descriptive text and images.
