The non-profit company Hellenic Eye Bank Demokritos (HEBD) «Gregory Georgariou» is a collaborative effort of renowned ophthalmologists from the Public, Private and Academic sector, that aims to change cornea transplantation globally.
The HEBD vision is to give the gift of sight to our fellow citizens who suffer from cornea blindness, to facilitate the process of cornea/eye donation and transplantation and to promote scientific research in this area.
This app aims to increase awareness and educate the public about cornea donation.
Specifically, through the application we provide the following capabilities:
• Registration for Eye Donation in collaboration with National Transplant Organization
• Information about Eye Donation and Eye Diseases
• Donation to the HEBD
• Game within the App
Saving sight through cornea donation can serve as the first step to change the mindset of people towards organ transplantation in general.
Our future actions will strive to raise awareness and increase the number of donors for other organs and tissues too.App for Eye Donation
