Family room or family room has the highest hierarchy in the house. Almost in all countries, especially Asia, family room is used for family needs while being gathered and relaxed. So, how to design a family room to be comfortable and can accommodate activities that suit your family needs?

To create a comfortable living room, we should first understand the function of the actual living room. It aims to make your family room a comfortable and comfortable place for families.
Basic Function of Family Room or Family Room

In Japan, the living room is a tea room (cha sit shu) which has the highest hierarchy in the house. In the Middle East, this family room is divided into two, namely space for women (birun) and space for men (anderun). In the west, family room other than as a place to relax, also serves as a place to receive guests.

As per the eastern culture, the function of the family room in Indonesia is a place to gather and relax for the core family members. In the past, this space consisted only of rows of chairs and tables, used for sitting chatting. In accordance with the times, family room has an additional function, namely as a means of entertainment, such as listening to music and watching TV.

For families with toddlers who need more space to move, the family room is often designed in such a way that it can be a child's play area. The furniture in this area combined with the children's toy device so as not to reduce the function of the actual living room.

Not infrequently also, the family room is used as a study room or space doing hobby activities (music room, sewing, or painting). Parents or young people do not have a special room to do their daily activities. In addition, the efficiency of the land also causes the family space used as a space to carry out various activities.

An informal lifestyle, which takes place in large cities, causes the family room to also experience a shift from its original function. It is used to receive guests, close relatives, and co-workers. This space is often used for small parties, such as social gathering or celebration of Lebaran, Christmas, or New Year.
