FeedTheDog is an application designed for TABLETS that can help the user formulate dog home made diets and record the weight and the body condition score of his/her pet. It is based on the FEDIAF 2013 nutritional guidelines for pets (fediaf.org), but it includes the AAFCO specifications as well.

The food database contains more than 3500 foods and cooked meals with detailed nutrient analysis (USDA SR26). The metabolizable energy of the foods is calculated using the NRC2006 methodology, as described in the FEDIAF report. For foods with crude fiber content greater than 8% of dry matter, the modified Atwater coefficients are used. In the same report, the NRC equations are adopted for the calculation of the daily energy requirements of healthy dogs. The same equations are used by the application.

However, FeedTheDog is NOT a cookbook. You wont find any precalculated recipes or meal preparation instructions in the app.

NOTE: Every effort has been made to exclude foods that are inappropriate for dog feeding. However, some of them may still be present. When in doubt, always consult your veterinarian.
