ForSight is an app used for Biomedical Research that generate predicted mutations generated from ForSight Architect (Desktop only). It functions like ForSight Utility (for desktop).
ForSight Architect generates mutation rules from wild-type and mutant sequences, calculating the "rules" followed in the mutation. These rules can then be applied to wild-type sequences or known mutant sequence to predict the subsequent sequence should the rule be followed. It can be downloaded free from http://tinyurl.com/ForSightArchitect
ForSight Architect works only on MACS, Ubuntu, and Windows 7 and above. It will require Java SE environment.
ForSight can be downloaded at http://tinyurl.com/ForSightArchitect and http://tinyurl.com/ForSightUtility
ForSight can be used on the phone, but limits the number of iterations the rules can be applied to prevent excessive power consumption.
ForSight works on the following principles.
Mutations are compared by protein sequences, but the rules are determined using nucleic acid sequences.
It can be used in both landscape and portrait view and is compatible across different device screen sizes.
The rules generated by ForSight Architect are in .rtf which can be analyzed to see the type of mutations that occur. These can be loaded by ForSight app for use.
The app is based on an algorithm developed by Mr Nguyen Phi Vu and Dr Samuel Gan of APD Lab, BII, A*STAR.
It runs on the rules of neighbor-dependent mutations, specifically Cellular Automata.
The app and desktop versions are created by Mr Wong Chun Foong, Mr Ian Hartono Budianto, Mr Nguyen Phi Vu, and Dr Samuel Gan.
This is a product of the Antibody & Product Development (APD Lab) lab of Bioinformatics Institute, A*STAR.
This version of ForSight Android App comes with one universal variant which will work on all the Android devices.
