About Gecko Commisioner Android App
The Silicon Labs Gecko Commissioner app is a reference app to commission devices with Wireless Gecko multiprotocol chips onto a zigbee network. The app utilizes the Bluetooth adapter on your phone or tablet to connect with a Bluetooth-enabled home automation controller and devices containing Silicon Labs Wireless Gecko chips running Bluetooth low energy, and with the capability of switching to zigbee.
The app has these main functions:
1. Scan for and collect identification data (using Bluetooth) from devices that wish to join a zigbee network.
2. Scan for and connect (using Bluetooth) with a home automation controller that allows zigbee devices to join
3. Pass information about the joining devices (using Bluetooth) to the home automation controller, to ensure that this device will allow the joining devices to join its zigbee network.
4. Tell the joining devices to switch to their zigbee application (via bootload) and join the zigbee network.
