Goatery based women livelihood development program aims at promoting goatery based livelihood opportunities through adequate knowledge dissemination and developing market linkages for socio economic empowerment of poor and marginalized goat rearer women. Training and capacity building of landless and backward class women on goat rearing business helped them to minimise their risk and to maximize profit through introduction of scientific goat rearing practices. Along with this, veterinary services and vaccination camps for goats are also being organized to minimize mortality of goats. Introduction of concept of goat insurance has helped these women to shield themselves from sudden shocks. A cadre of para-veterinary women (Pashu Sakhi) at village level has been developed to provide instant support and guidance to goat rearers in the villages
