GPS MarX the Spot allows you create a multi-stage treasure hunt and have a treasure seeker find each destination step, and ultimately the treasure that you’ve left at the end of the hunt. The seeker finds each step’s destination by using the App’s display of the current GPS coordinates, the destination coordinates, a compass, the calculated distance, and a visual map letting them know where to go.
The free version requires manual recording and entering of the GPS coordinates: You provide the treasure seeker with the first steps’ GPS coordinates. They enter them into the app then follow the map to the coordinate location. At this step’s destination they find the physical note that you left providing them with the next steps’ GPS coordinates. The seeker follows this same process until they come to the end of the hunt.
The full version provides for the automated capturing of GPS coordinates, hints for each step, and an optional password which requires entry in order to continue on to the next step. When creating the hunt you can automatically save your current coordinates as the step destination, enter an optional hint, and also an optional password for each step. When you’re done with creating each step, the treasure seeker can use the map to get to the step’s destination, using the optional hint (like "look up in the tree branches"). This seeker can find a physical note there at the step destination which could include the password which when entered into the app allows them to move on to the next treasure hunt step.
This app has no tracking, spyware, or anything else - the GPS permissions are only for the treasure hunt itself and are not transmitted. There are no ads.
