About GSB: Geology and Minerals of B Android App

A mobile app of Geological Survey of Bangladesh (GSB) has been designed for the students, researcher and mass people of Bangladesh to disseminate the general information on geology of Bangladesh and discovered minerals by GSB.

The app includes GSB information; details of Mineral Resources discovered by GSB, Stratigraphy of Bangladesh, Geological Time Scale, different geo-scientific maps and contact information of GSB.

Geological Survey of Bangladesh (GSB) is the apex geo-scientific national organization of Bangladesh affiliated under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. GSB has been entrusted with the responsibilities of investigation and exploration of mineral resources, geological mapping and geological investigation in connection with various civil engineering constructions, water resources management, geophysical investigation and various sorts of land use mapping, geo-environmental research, environmental hazards study, urban and engineering geological mapping etc. Geological Survey of Bangladesh has been awarded "Independence Day Award, 1994" for its distinguished and illustrious works in mineral exploration, discoveries and research. GSB produces a wide range of datasets from bedrock geology, sedimentology, quaternary geology, groundwater, marine geology, geological heritage, geotechnical study, mineral resources, geophysics, geochemistry and geohazard. To be even momentous in this competing digital era GSB has decided to create a Mobile App, where about GSB, details of all discovered mineral resources of Bangladesh with pictures, stratigraphy of Bangladesh, geological Time-Scale will be available. As a result, significant and authentic information related to the above mentioned subjects would be easily accessible and understandable for interested professionals, researchers, students and general people.
