The game was only released in Japan but is almost entirely in English with
Japanese subtitles for the English audio. It is not vital to understand
Japanese for any parts of the game. you can really only use this option after being kicked back to the title screen after losing all your lives. The game makes no mention of this, and it took a little while for me to figure it out, so I thought it might be worth throwing in for the sake of other confused gamers. The game will save at the last level where you died (though I don't
recall if it takes you to the exact scene you were on, or makes you begin the entire level again)
