About Headboard Inspiration Designs Android App

I know what you are thinking. What kind of bullocks is this? Bedroom furniture is probably the least important factor in your day to day living, right?

Well, in some respects you would be right. When you walk into an important meeting, or perhaps a big job interview, your bedroom furniture probably isn't the first thing on your mind. While you do not actively think about objects you have as being actively involved in your success they certainly do have influence.

Let's look at the example of fashion. If you have ever worn a well fit, strong, quality fabric garment you understand the feeling of confidence when wearing this piece of clothing. That confidence transcends into your daily interactions as you go through the day regardless of whether the other person actually notices the garment itself. Even a pair of silk undergarments can have this effect on a person. According to a study conducted by Andrex, over a third of women admit to buying stylish matching underwear as a means to boost confidence in their day (not just for when the clothes come off!).

Other objects can have similar effects on how you feel. Feng Shui has been studied with respect to interior design in China for thousands of years, dating back to 4000 BCE, however within the western world modern interior designers often look back to adapt components of it into their designs. The concepts inspire balance between the environment and the person.

Feng Shui is often viewed with a pseudoscience rub, however there are elements of it that are beginning to turn up in modern psychology. Granted, many aspects of Feng Shui are based solely on ancient superstitions, the idea of balancing contrasting shades (yin) and sun (yang) is fundamentally part of art everywhere. Many modern architects also play off of contrast as a means to both stand certain pieces out of a building for distinction as well as create a unity throughout.

In our own lives, the bedroom has a number of primary purposes which help us to achieve balance in our own lives. Nearly eight hours or one third of our lives are spent trying to achieve adequate rest and replenishment of energy expelled during the day. Sex, which is on the primary tier of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is also predominately exhibited in the the bedroom. It is not surprising then that the design and mood that a bedroom creates can work to create an environment which is both conducive to rest and relaxation as well as a canvas for sexual restoration.

The bed is obviously the most important component of the bedroom and the headboard could be viewed as the central visual art piece. This leads to a somewhat substantial conclusion; For a place you spend nearly one third of your life, provides you with two of your primary needs -namely rest and sexual activity, there could certainly be consequences on your daily life based on the efficiency in which your bed provides for these needs.

The mattress component of your bed is of obvious importance, since the comfort it is able to provide will allow better sleeps and thus meet your rest needs more proficiently. What is interesting is the devaluation of the headboard which is the primary visual point of the bedroom. There are subtle psychological aspects in the design of the headboard which can actually help to balance deficiencies in the day to day life of the owner.

Examples of this might include using particular colors to encourage certain moods, such as using purple to feel sophisticated or luxurious in financially tough times. Green could be used to induce calmness, or red and pink could be used to induce increased arousal. Shapes can also have psychological effects on the owner such as the size of headboard creating either a sense of power and sturdiness or perhaps using a plain design to create a sense of simple organization in a hectic life.
