Anyone who has ever been on a fitness class knows how important it is to work out at the appropriate heart rate zones .
All the leading sports apps display a maximum value of the pulse , sometimes saying little z0 , z1 , etc .
None of them show what the percentage of maximum heart rate is. Whereas this is actually one of the most important information.
Well, my application actually does.
From now on you'll know whether you are exercising at the appropriate rate , whether you need to increase your effort or perhaps slow down just a bit.
Main features:
- The application displays a graph heart rate of the past 5 minutes, calculates MHR according to Sally Edwards & calculates the zone of / g % MHR or according to Karvonen method .
- During the training but also after, you can see the results of the heart rates stats
- The virtual coach can read aloud: heart rate, % of max heart rate, heart rate zone. It also informs you if you've exceeded one of the above.
- It gives you the option of viewing historical data
- It also allows conducting an analysis of the training and it's graphic visualization etc.
Additional features:
- The app remembers the last connected device
- Ensures an automatic connection if losing Bluetooth connection with the belt
-Ability to display the % maximum heart rate as notifications
-Possibility to notify via LED (color consistent with the zone )or sound after exceeding the selected hear rate zone ( above or below)
- Option of browsing archive charts and statistics
- Displays battery level
-Ability to rename a heart rate monitor (only in the application , the physical device name remains unchanged)
-Preventing accidental closing of the application
How to proceed in case of technical issues:
- Should you have problems connecting your device, turn off the filtering of devices. This option is available in the main menu ( 3 vertical dots). This will enable searching for available Bluetooth Smart devices, not only the heart zone meter
Debugging
- Turning on this option will enable logging into the diagnostics file. This file is called hrzones.log and can be found in the internal memory of the device, in the main catalogue. Please send this file together with a description of the issue & device details to the following email address:
Keep calm and get fit :)
The app works best whilst connected to a heart rater meter with Bluetooth Smart/ Low Energy Technology.
It has been tested on the Decathlon Geonaute Bluetooth Smart, Polar H7, Runtastic RUNBT1, Wahoo Tickr, Scosche RHYTHM+™, Sigma HRM, Suunto Movesense, Mio Alpha 2, COOSPO H6, Latitude Ltd., Maxwell Guider, thumbsUp!, Runtastic, Cateye, Tchibo, tackx HRB and belt from Biedronka store.
