Government of Punjab under its flagship Mukh Mantri Hepatitis-C Relief Fund is offering free Hepatitis-C treatment to all citizens of Punjab. The program was launched on June 18, 2016 and has put thousands of patients on treatment since the launch. Diagnostic tests are provided in collaboration with private sector labs at a subsidized rate and treatment is offered free of cost through 25 facilities (22 District Hospitals and 3 Government Medical Colleges) across the 22 districts of Punjab. In order to ensure better patient treatment outcomes, the government of Punjab has launched the Hep-C free Punjab program application to facilitate patient tracking, adherence monitoring, ease of data collection and analysis. The data collected through the patient management application will be synthesized into summaries that will enable the program to make programmatic decisions informed through a sound data-backed strategy.
