About Home Inventory Android App

With Home Inventory you can easily write down where you kept your stuff.

Use for:

- Register where you keep your stuff, right in the moment you are doing it;
- Find stuff in no time;
- Organize data in places and boxes;
- Organize data in categories;
- Instant list filtering;
- Data backup to card;
- Really easy and nice to use.

Here are some useful questions and answers.

1. How can I keep my stuff?
You have two alternatives:
A) The default one
In the start screen, just write the stuff you are keeping and select the place–box location, clicking the Select place button.

B) The other one (selecting also the stuff category)
You can also use categories to organize further the archive. To choose the category each time you write down stuff, just go to Settings > Categories | Options, and select “Choose category at stuff archive”. You can also use a default category, and simplify the writing.

2. What are the places and boxes?
Just the two levels you have to organize stuff location. Both can be anything. Of course you can add, edit and delete places and boxes, using the Places screen.

3. How can I see all the stuff kept in a place or a box?
For a place, in Places list, long-click on the place name, and select Stuff. For a box, in Places list, click on the box name.

4. How can I change list sorting?
In the settings, section Stuff sorting, you have several sorting options.

5. How to add, delete or change a category?
In the settings, section Manage categories, you can do all that.

6. Can I backup and retrieve my data?
Yes! Go to Settings | Backup, and click Save data to card.
This will save to sd card, in directory Smart Keeping, a copy of your database named smartkeeping.sqlite. Then, you can save the file wherever you want, or even inspect it and change it with an sqlite editor. However, do not change the directory and file names and locations, if you want to use the import facility.

To retrieve a database use Import data from card. But be careful. Importing the database means you are completely replacing the data with the card file.

If you have manipulated the file and made some mistake, you can lose all your data!
Remember also that if you do an import of an old file, you lose data introduced meanwhile. So, use with care.
