Honduras is a Central American country with Caribbean Sea coastlines to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. In the tropical rainforest near Guatemala, the ancient Mayan ceremonial site Cop?n has stone-carved hieroglyphics and stelae, tall stone monuments. In the Caribbean Sea are the Bay Islands, a diving destination that's part of the 1,000km-long Mesoamerican Barrier Reef.

The climate is tropical with cooler, more temperate weather in the mountains with temperatures ranging from 16?C (61?F) to 20?C (68?F). The north coast is very hot with rain throughout the year, and though the offshore breezes temper the climate, the sun is very strong.

Honduras is located in Central America, bordering the Caribbean Sea. The climate varies from tropical in the lowlands to temperate in the mountains. The central and southern regions are relatively hotter and less humid than the northern coast.
