Iglu, pronounced Igloo, is the Inuit word for home. The Inuit are a group of culturally similar indigenous peoples inhabiting the Arctic regions of Greenland, Canada, and the United States. Similar to an Igloo built from snow, an Iglu can be built of any material and is the common term used in some parts of the world to refer to a building. Our use of the term "Iglu Radio" is meant to describe hometown radio and the on-air hosts that occupy the terrestrial airwaves within their communities. Some may be heard in more than one community, but each have an attention to their hometown audiences in a way not found on nationalized radio programs. Iglu Radio is a free APP showcasing these local hometown radio programs. Listen to Iglu Radio to hear your favorites on demand, listen on-the-go, or to discover new favorites. If you are a program host that would like to utilize Iglu Radio as a way to increase listenership of your show, contact RadioLinx at 480-993-3150 or [email protected].
