Kisah perjalanan Nabi SAW menuju Alloh yaitu Isra Mikraj terjadi pada periode akhir kenabian di Makkah sebelum Rasulullah hijrah ke Madinah. Menurut al-Maududi dan mayoritas ulama, Isra Mi'raj terjadi pada tahun pertama sebelum hijrah, yaitu antara tahun 620-621 M. Menurut al-Allamah al-Manshurfuri, Isra Mi'raj terjadi pada malam 27 Rajab tahun ke-10 kenabian, dan inilah yang populer. Namun, Syaikh Shafiyurrahman al-Mubarakfuri[6] menolak pendapat tersebut dengan alasan karena Khadijah radhiyallahu anha meninggal pada bulan Ramadan tahun ke-10 kenabian, yaitu 2 bulan setelah bulan Rajab, dan saat itu belum ada kewajiban salat lima waktu. Al-Mubarakfuri menyebutkan 6 pendapat tentang waktu kejadian Isra Mikraj. Tetapi tidak ada satupun yang pasti. Dengan demikian, tidak diketahui secara persis kapan tanggal terjadinya Isra Mi'raj.
