Jagriti Public School was inaugurated on 6th June, 2005. It is managed by Street Survivors India, a non-profit registered organization under the societies Registration Act, 1860.
The School has a dynamic, robust and progressive management committee. Set amidst paddy fields, water booties and a majestic banyan tree , the school offers equal learning opportunities to all children in English medium with Bengali as second language and Hindi as a third language.
It has dedicated Academic Teachers, with committed Non-Teaching staff. To ensure all round development for children, the school has Crafts, Music, dance and drawing as part of their learning routine.
With emphasis on physical growth of a child also, the school has a large play field for track and field events. It also has a beautiful basketball court.
5 well equipped laboratories are the pride of the school. Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Maths/ Geography. The Computer lab has with Wi-Fi connectivity and over 20 machines and other IT learning devices. The library of the school having more than 2000 titles in a room for healthy debates / discussions and interactions with books and the librarian.
The School offers residential facilities in special cases where in children get a healthy, clean hostel environment, with evening and morning tuition, along with regular school learning.
All basic amenities like safe/clean drinking water, fire- fighting systems, and medical emergencies are all organised with committed staff and resources.
The school provides school fee subsidy to economically or socially challenged families so that children have the right to education under all circumstances.
