The Great Wall of China was originally established during the Warring States Period more than two thousand years ago. It is a symbol of the indomitable spirit of the Chinese nation and is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The marathon originated during the Greek war more than two thousand years ago, and reflects ancient mankind’s desire and pursuit for peace and liberty. It has also become one of the most classic competitive events in modern Olympic Games.
