About JUNTO Android App
JUNTO is a new breed of social media founded in the spirit of authenticity. Our goal is to rebalance our relationship with technology through more human-centered design, distributed technology, and a nonprofit approach.
Human-centered Designed
The forms we communicate through are as important as the messages themselves. We've designed new social flows to enable more agency and flexibility. No ads, vanity metrics, harmful design patterns, AI-powered echo chambers, and more.
Decentralized
JUNTO will be powered by a scalable, distributed technology called Holochain. This means we don't store your information in centralized servers run or owned by us. You own your data and we won't sell it to third parties. (Our app currently runs on an open source centralized graph database as we wait for Holochain to develop further. We will spin up a distributed version of Junto over time, starting with DMs.)
Not for Profit
JUNTO is a nonprofit that exists independently of any investors, shareholders, or special interests. This grassroots initiative belongs to all of us and none of us.
