About Kandru Messenger (XMPP/Jabber) Android App

For many years more and more Messenger enter the market. We do not see ourselves as competitors to WhatsApp, Threema or other large commercial messengers. We are convinced that an open and free infrastructure that everyone can run is much better than a centralized communication system. With KandruIM you can stay in touch with your friends - completely independent of any commercial interests. We only store most necessary data and do not analyze your conversations. Privacy is very important for us!

After installing our free application you can directly login with your existing kandru account or create a new one. You can also login with any other Jabber / XMPP provider out there. To register a kandru account you can also visit https://account.kandru.de from your PC / Smartphone.

KandruIM is largely based on Conversations but under active development in my spare freetime. We have made some changes in comparision with the original open source project.

We have the following features available for you:

- end to end encryption
- encryption works with gajim (Windows / Linux / Mac)
- send pictures / videos
- read notifications
- storage of your message history in an archive for a short time (offline messages, sync for multiple devices)
- private and public conferences (groups)
- small battery consumption
