The Kannada Sangha School was opened in the year 1969 at No1. Porteous Road, Ayanavaram, Chennai - 23 with the K.G. section with an initial strength of 23 students. The school soon grew into a full fledged High School in the year 1977. The School was affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education,

New Delhi. The School is now functioning in its own airy building in No.3, 3rd Main Road, United India Nagar, Ayanavaram, Chennai - 23 with a total strength of nearly 1100 students.

The School has been recognised by the Tamil Nadu Government from the year 1981. Since then Tamil Medium Classes have been opened. The students are being sent to the S.S.L.C. Public Examination and Higher Secondary Public Examination conducted by the Directorate of Examination, Government of Tamil Nadu. We started Higher Secondary Classes from 14.09.92. we have 52 dedicated Teaching staff, 06 non teaching staff and 12 helpers. We have all facilities which include library, School Auditorium, laboratory. T.V. , V.C.R. tape recorder and Computers. We also have Computer Science as a part of education. Apart from imparting academic education we lay stress on the development of spiritual and moral values. We celebrated our Silver Jubilee year in 1994 - 95. CCTV Camera is installed in the school premises to insure for the safety of School Children.

It is our endeavour to develop the School in all spheres.
