About Kenya Crops and Fertilizer App Android App

Welcome to Kenya and Fertilizer Map Application



This app will enable you to identify the right crop for the right place. It gives information on Agroecological zones, average seasonal rainfall, crop varieties and types, general soil information, predicted soil pH and soil nutrient necessary for crop growth. It is based on Farm Management Handbook of Kenya

How to Use

If you want to know the right crop for a particular geographic location, then you can input place on the search bar or tap on the map or if you have GPS enabled on your phone, then you can tap on the My Place blue icon at the bottom right corner.

Maps and Crop Database was provided by Dr. Mike Teucher of Trier University Biogeography Department

Soil pH and nutrients retrieved from ISRIC - World Soil Information

Weather rainfall patterns from 1999 - 2006 provided by Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) downloaded from TRMM - Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission

Weather rainfall patterns from 2007 - 2019 provided by SM2RAIN-ASCAT (2007-2019) global daily satellite rainfall downloaded from SM2RAIN-ASCAT (2007-2019)
