Abu Bakar ash-Shiddiq adalah sahabat Rasulullah yang mulia, bahkan dikatakan ia adalah manusia termulia setelah para nabi dan rasul. Nama lengkapnya 'Abdullah bin 'Utsman bin Amir bin Amru bin Ka'ab bin Sa'ad bin Taim bin Murrah bin Ka'ab bin Lu'ay bin Ghalib bin Quraisy. Nasab keturunan bertemu dengan nabi pada kakeknya Murrah bin Ka'ab bin Lu'ay, dan ibu dari Abu Bakar adalah Ummu al-Khair Salma binti Shakhr bin Amir bin Ka'ab bin Sa'ad bin Taim.
Abu Bakar adalah ayah atau Bapak dari Aisyah RA, istri Nabi Muhammad. Nama yang sebenarnya adalah Abdul Ka'bah (artinya 'hamba Ka'bah'), yang kemudian diubah oleh Muhammad menjadi Abdullah (artinya 'hamba Allah'). Muhammad memberinya gelar Ash-Shiddiq (artinya 'yang berkata benar') setelah Abu Bakar membenarkan peristiwa Isra Mi'raj yang diceritakan oleh Muhammad kepada para pengikutnya, sehingga ia dikenal dengan nama "Abu Bakar ash-Shiddiq".

Abu Bakr as-Siddiq was a friend of the noble Prophet, even said he was the noblest man after the prophets and apostles. His full name 'Abdullah bin' Amr bin Uthman bin Amr bin Ka'b bin Sa'ad bin Taim bin Murrah bin Ka'b bin Lu'ay bin Ghalib bin Quraysh. Nasab offspring met the prophet on his grandfather Murrah bin Ka'b bin Lu'ay, and the mother of Abu Bakr was Umm al-Khair Salma bint Shakhr bin Amir bin Ka'b bin Sa'ad bin Taim.
Abu Bakr was the father or the father of Aisha RA, wife of the Prophet Muhammad. His actual name was Abdul Kaaba (meaning 'servant of the Kaaba'), which is then converted by Muhammad into Abdullah (meaning 'servant of God'). Muhammad gave him the title of Ash-Siddiq (meaning 'that is said is true') after Abu Bakar confirmed the Ascension of the events recounted by Muhammad to his followers, that he was known by the name "Abu Bakr as-Siddiq".
