About Learn Carnatic Android App
This is an app for learning Carnatic music. It incorporates the key concepts of music (i.e. pitch and rhythm). It also simulates a student-teacher interaction by giving real-time feedback while learning. The app has 3 modules: Pitch, Rhythm and Voice training in beginner and advanced levels.
The pitch training part trains the user for the twelve basic swaras in Carnatic music. There are twelve pitch ranges offered, which can be practiced for varying time durations as selected by the user. While practicing, the user’s pitch is shown graphically and the percentage accuracy is specified.
The rhythm training part trains the user to track the rhythm/ beats per unit time at three different tempos. Online feedback is provided for the same to indicate if the beat is right.
The voice training part trains the user for the different lessons in Carnatic music which includes the varsais, alankarams and the geethams. Each lesson can be practiced at 3 different tempos and 12 pitch ranges. Online feedback is provided as the user is practicing these lessons.
Currently the look and feel of the app is being worked out in different phone models. If it is not working for your phone, we regret for the inconvenience.
