The Adventures of Ollie and Sam is a fun and interactive app that helps young children learn English or make their first steps in literacy. With a central story and integrated activities, ‘Ollie and Sam’ immerses children in rich vocabulary and leads them through a structured reading progression through story telling.

The lively English audiobook at the centre of the course can be listened to or read with the help of an adult for enjoyment and understanding. It provides an introduction to high frequency words and specific phonic structures and is the basis for the rest of the course content.
The Vocabulary Zone presents an opportunity to focus in more detail, by practicing and comparing pronunciation with a native speaker and by reading and spelling words which are grouped phonetically. Definitions help child and adult readers with the meaning of more challenging words.

The Learning Zones linked to each chapter of the audiobook contain Mini Readers to develop reading in a three-stage progression, each providing an added layer of difficulty from listening to independent reading. Learners can also engage in interactive grammar and comprehension exercises as well as dictations and revision of their pronunciation, and spelling.
