About Learn to Speak Mandarin Android Game
This is a simple app that I made to help my kids learn to speak Mandarin. Mandarin is our second language. The idea is that if they speak well enough to convince the platform speech recognizer, then it is good enough for me. In addition, by gamifying the task and introducing a level of competition between them, it gets them to work harder and practice more.
The app works faster if you download the speech data required for the Android speech recognizer and text-to-speech modules. Please refer to the screenshot for more information on how to do this.
