A Rádio Liberdade 87 FM é uma emissora do Centro de Cultura Popular Guimarães Rosa, entidade sem fins lucrativos que fundada em 1997 para manter a Liberdade FM, que tem por finalidade atender as necessidades de comunicação da população porteirinhense, nas áreas de entretenimento e cultura.
Sempre apoiou os talentos regionais e busca o fortalecimento de parcerias com diversos segmentos da comunidade em geral, garantindo a liberdade de expressão e promovendo a cidadania.
No ano de 2004, através do Decreto Legislativo 130/2014, o Ministério das Comunicações concedeu outorga à emissora, sendo uma das primeiras comunitárias do país.
Em 2015, a Liberdade FM entrou numa nova fase, aproximando ainda mais do público. Com uma programação voltada para a cultura sertaneja. A nova programação, construída através de diversos estudos e referências, apoia sua base na música sertaneja, abrindo espaço também para suas derivações como regional, arrocha, sertanejo universitário, sertanejo raiz, forró, popular entre outros.
