Alytus ethnographic museum together with partners - Lazdijai Region Museum and Suwalki Regional Museum from June 1, 2020. implements the project "Cross border poetry - painting that speaks". The aim of the project is to ensure the balanced development of historical, natural and cultural heritage and its adaptation to tourism.
This project aims to involve poets living on the border and their poetry in existing tourist routes. Travelers in the two countries are invited to rediscover museums, read poems about homeland, love, nature, animals, flowers, and participate in new educations.
The LiteraTour app invites tourists traveling in the border region to visit Alytus, Lazdijai, Suwalki and get acquainted with the poets who lived here (Maria Konopnicka, Salomėja Nėris, Motiejus Gustaitis, Anzelmas Matutis and others), to take a walk in the literary city.
