The LG Budget Watch was developed by Eko-Konnect for the Human Development Initiative (HDI) and offers you the opportunity to make your little but significant contributions to turn your community and Local Government around.

After two years of successful run on Local Government Budget and Accountability Watch, it has become needful to improve and sustain the existing capacity activities towards ensuring accountability and transparency at the local government level given the huge latent potentials at local government to deliver the dividends of democracy as the popularly acclaimed government closest to the people.
One of the original key objectives of this initiative is to diminish the culture of silence and impunity that pervades the nation and fuels corruption and poverty by mobilising and handling community groups, most affected by both vices of silence and perpetrators of impunity and fiscal corruption, the necessary education to participate in governance and demand for local government budget accountability and transparency for the development of their community.
