Log Sbwriel (Welsh for Litter Log) is a simple GPS mobile litter survey app built using Processing for Android, designed to allow rapid logging of litter items. It uses the GPS in your phone or tablet to locate the positions at which you record finding different types of litter using graphical icons on the main app screen. Those data are saved in a CSV file (the app will create a folder on your device for them, called ‘Log Sbwriel’) for you to use and share: much of the great outdoors doesn’t have good mobile broadband, so saving to local log files works well. It’s completely open-source and there’s even a simple digital map template available for download that lets you share your litter logs on your website.
