Make The Number is based off the well known arithmetic card game 24. Never heard of it? Let me explain.
Four cards are dealt. The aim? To make the number 24. The rules? All of the numbers must be used when making the target, but in any order you wish. Only the standard maths operations of + (add), - (subtract), × (multiply) and ÷ (divide) are allowed. Some people allow trigonometry, factorials, powers, roots and combining, but this app does not. That would make the game WAY too easy!
(In case you forget any of these, just press the '?' in the action bar to show the rules again)
The app allows you to:
- Test your skills across a variety of game modes. You can unlock achievements and compare scores with friends using Google Play Games!
- Generate random 4 number sets for fun, allowing custom targets and card ranges
- Solve any set of 4 numbers for any target, in case you get stuck
The app will even let you customise your target if you ever get bored of making 24 (try a trickier target like 36) or customise the range of the cards generated (e.g. instead of 1-13, you could do 1-20!).
Make The Number is great for passing time or playing with friends, and helps you strengthen your mental arithmetic and quick thinking skills!
