Maltese Patterns, app developed by Tanya Gradovich and Augmented Space Agency during the “Links Between Realities” workshop of EASA Malta 2015.
Maltese Patterns brings together different patterns observed throughout Malta and allows them to interact with each other in a 3D augmented art installation.
The kaleidoscopic animations enforce the abstract layer of those patterns by deconstructing them and reassembling them in new configurations. The observer is free to explore them and can juxtapose the different patterns to create many different overlays form various points of view.
The app uses a horizontal target which can be downloaded from the Augmented Space Agency Facebook page or directly from the screenshots underneath.
You can tap on the augmented object to begin the animation or tap an hold to take a screenshot which you can later share.
