About MDC Standalone Android App
We would like to inform you about a research project, which is connected to this app and executed at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (University of Applied Science). The project is about "Optimizing mobile Client-Server-Applications", which shall clarify, how data and computational expense can be distributed between client and server. In order to do this we need to collect completely anonymous data, such as the battery level, available disk space, connection type (WiFi or Carrier).
Important: We never ask for or collect your location! Moreover from the data collected no conclusion on your identity or sensible data can be made.
We truly hope you will help us improve Client-Server-Applications! Thanks in advance!
Permissions:
• Photos/Media/Files: We need this permission to cache some data in a file on your device - nothing special.
Collected Data:
• Device model (e.g. Galaxy S 6)
• Monthly data limit (mobile data) via user input
• Available/Used RAM
• Available/Used disk space
• Battery level (0-100%)
• Carrier connection type (e.g. EDGE, UMTS, HSPA, LTE, ...)
• Carrier signal strength
• Available Wifi-Connection (yes/no)
