As we have told you about the types of MDCAT test and the bodies which conduct it, the next question which hits the mind is the syllabus. The test for potential doctors is comprised of four subjects which are Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English. Students have to attempt all questions asked in the paper. You can check our syllabus section for further details.

Merit Calculation:

Merit for MBBS and BDS is formulated on the basis of marks obtained in matriculation, intermediate (FSc) and entrance test exams.

Further, we will tell you about the syllabus, merit calculation, application process and fee, test preparation institutes, sample papers and everything which you need to know about MDCAT test.

Formula for calculating merit is given below:
First Step
10% of Matriculation: Obtained marks in SSC or equivalent divided by total marks of SSC or Equivalent x 1100 x 0.10
Second Step
40% of Intermediate: Obtained Marks in HSSC or equivalent divided by total marks of HSSC/Equivalent x 1100 x 0.40 = 40 percent of HSSC or Equivalent
Third Step
50% of MDCAT: Obtained Marks in entrance Test divided by total numbers of pre-admission test x 1100 x 0.50
Fourth Step
Aggregate Marks: Add up the results of 1st, 2nd and 3rd steps will give you aggregate marks.
Fifth Step
Aggregate Percentage: Divide aggregate marks by 1100 x 100 to get an aggregate percentage.

In MCAT the percentage of biology is quite High i.e. 40% questions are from biology. Yet it is easier to prepare for biological science as the syllabus included in Biology is very concise. There is no need to prepare the whole book as for other subjects like Chemistry and Physics so it is much easier to prepare biology regarding Medical Entry Test.
