Metal detector mode mainly works with ferromagnetic metals, which will increase the value of the magnetic field.

As magnetometer it has a bottom level scale of 1000 micro Tesla, which makes easier finding magnets or other sources of high field strength and explore the limits of Hall probes.

In vector mode, you can watch the approach of metals and the change of the Earth 's magnetic field direction, simultaneously (30 a 90 micro Tesla).

The shooting range of the alarm (sound and / or vibration) is set by the sensitivity and the calibration value, in magnetometer mode is shown as a blue band of tolerance within which, it does not fire. The alarm is triggered when the measured value exceeds the limits of the band, whose center represents the terrestrial field (default or after calibration at a specific location).

The alarm trip below the tolerance band (low), can detect abnormal Earth's field decreases, shieldings or shields, calibrated mistakenly (calibrated in the wrong place), some pipes and cables, and theoretically, LARGE quantities of gold, silver or copper.
