About Miaohui AR Android App
“Penang CNY Celebration” aka Miaohui is an activity by the people, for the people. Over the past 20 years, it has been the most anticipated event of the Chinese New Year celebrations in Penang.
“Miaohui AR” is a non-commercial app, it’s meant for the Penang people and all participants. While indulging in the traditional cultural atmosphere, we hope that the participants could also get a taste of the latest technology – AR (Augmented Reality). We thought that blending of cultural heritage and technology might be a great experience!
Visit each clan temple on the Map, hunt for the QR code to unlock the unique AR experience! Enter AR scene through the clan temple page OR the AR menu. Press the “Start” button!
Go to the Settings menu to learn how to manipulate the AR characters. Have fun!
