About MimicsG4 Android App
Is you car smartphone integration outdated? Or only have access to a handful of apps in your dash?
Use all your apps the way you want them and exactly as they appear on your device straight from your dash touchscreen.
The 4th Generation MimicsG4 is the key to full control of all your apps on any external touchscreen display.
This app compliments the MimicsG4 available at http://www.customgadz.com, and is not very useful without the required hardware.
The MimicsG4 in conjunction with this app allows you to calibrate and setup the device with your vehicle. After you have setup your vehicle you will be able to fully control all your Smartphone apps from your OEM touchscreen.
Current app features so far:
* Touchscreen calibration and device setup
* Auto detection of MimicsG4 hardware
* Force rotates all your apps into landscape mode (even if apps dont normally do this)
**Note: If after your home screen rotates to landscape and icons appear chopped, this is due to the stock launcher and is mainly evident in Samsung devices. The fix for this is to use a 3rd party launcher such as 'Google Now Launcher'.
The MimicsG4 is designed to work with all automotive 4-wire and 8-wire restive touchscreens and now supports USB touchscreens and a variety of our own custom capacitive touchscreens.
Setting up hardware for automotive use:
1. Mirror your device to your external display via a vehicle specific interface or cable or WIFI connection.
2. If your car is already equipped with a factory touchscreen then install our optional 'switcher' board.
3. Pair and run the MimicsG4 app and you will be able to control all your apps.
Setting up hardware for generic use:
1. Connect your device to your external monitor via HDMI cable or WIFI.
2. Connect the touchscreen to the USB port on the MimicsG4. If you external monitor is not equipped with a USB connection for touch, we also will have adapters to connect to other touchscreens if needed.
