Both types of modules are covered in detail in this course by Ben Wilson.

Ben starts by looking at the CP3 mixer from Manhattan Analog. After explaining the differences between linear and exponential mixing, he reveals how to shape your sound through filtering. Using Manhattan Analog's Discrete SVVCF module, Ben demonstrates all the different filter flavors: Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass and Notch.
