Modern African Times is a mobile app that offers reliable, face paced English language news from francophone africa.

MAT emerged to respond to the needs of a more global world. Its creation follows the vision and commitment of young African intellectuals who find it necessary to bridge the language gap and use a more global communication tool, English. For a long time, Francophone west Africa has been isolated from the rest of the world due to a language gap. Our african neighbours as well as the rest of world are not fully informed about this part of the globe just because the news are reported mainly in French.

MAT aims to respond to this information gap for the African Diaspora and the rest of the world. We also hope that journalists and information professionals from different horizons will find a reliable resource for their needs.

We provide real time info, editorials, contributions and we will cover all aspect of our society. We collect reliable information from news agencies, established and respected french speaking news papers on all media across francophone Africa.

We hope this information portal is going to contribute to the promotion of a healthy and sustainable democracy across the continent hence the adoption of the spirit and ideals of the African Renaissance.
