Kami sengaja enggak memilih sekolah publik dengan berbagai pertimbangan. Tapi ini sekolah bagus. Tingkat penerimaan di perguruan-perguruan tinggi di Amerika dari sekolah ini juga tinggi," kata UYM.

Keberangkatan Wirda ke New York ini atas kerjasama dengan Nusantara Foundation dan Imam Shamsi Ali, seorang tokoh muslim Indonesia di New York. "Di sana nanti kerjasama dengan Nusantara Foundation jadi Duta Quran. Saya melarang Wirda kalau cuma sekolah SMU di sana dan tidak ada muatan dakwah. Di saat libur nanti dia bisa keliling negara-negara bagian untuk mengajar tahfidz," ujar Yusuf.

Yusuf bercerita putrinya memang punya keinginan sekolah di luar negeri sejak di bangku SD. Saat bersekolah di SMP, Wirda juga pernah bersekolah di Jordan. Namun, hanya setengah tahun di Jordan, Wirda kembali lagi ke Tanah Air. Wirda bercita-cita bisa kuliah di Hubungan Internasional Universitas George Washington, agar bisa menjadi Menlu. Namun, ternyata niat bersekolah ke Amerika Wirda terealisasi lebih cepat saat sekolah di SMU.

"Mudah-mudahan Wirda bisa dakwah sekalian sekolah di sana. Dan karena SMU itu 4 tahun, mudah-mudahan dia bisa pulang dengan menghasilkan anak-anak hafidz dan hafidzah baru binaan Wirda selama di sana," harap ustad berusia 38 tahun ini.

Nama Wirda sudah dikenal luas di dunia hafidz Quran. Dia kerap tampil di televisi untuk membaca hafalan Quran. Dalam beberapa sesi, Wirda juga kerap muncul bersama ayahnya untuk tilawah dan acara dakwah. Kemampuan bahasa asingnya pun sudah sangat baik.
