The National Tourism Careers Expo (NTCE) is expected to attract over 9 000 learners, tourism students, graduates and educators during the three days. The interactive exhibition is designed to showcase the exciting career opportunities available in tourism and hospitality.

The NTCE, which will run from 1 to 3 October 2015 at the Performing Arts Centre of the Free State (PACOFS) in Bloemfontein, is a parternship event under auspices of the Free State Tourism Authority (FSTA), an agency mandated to tourism marketing and promotion in the Free State, National Department of Tourism (NDT), the Department of Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (DESTEA) and Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport Education and Training Authority(CATHSSETA). This year’s expo is celebrated under the theme: “Tourism Alive with opportunities”. The Free State Province has won the hosting of the expo for the next three years and this year (2015) is the first year. The NTCE continues to be the driver of the National Tourism Sector Strategy’s which aims to creating 225 000 tourism jobs by 2020, and ensuring there are sufficient numbers of skilled people to fill these positions.
