Nirbhaya@Noida is an initiative by UP police for women.

Nirbhaya@Noida is an emergency service, comprised of an android emergency application, which can send a distress call or emergency message to UP Police officials and specified contact or group in an emergency situation faced by a woman. The Police personnel will get these SOS alerts and locations on a portal and as an sms on their mobile phones as well. This initiative is specially for women and only women are requested to register and use this service

Below are specifications required for this application to function:

Android Phone, Android OS version – 2.0 and above

1. Correct Location, Information and Communication, with and from the app is dependent upon the basic hardware/software requirements, like - Active Data plan, SMS plan, minimum talk time and active GPS functionality.

2. For the App to work, It must have – an active mobile number, GPS, Internet data pack and sms pack active

3. User must register on UP police link to avail these services. Once the user registers on Up police link User will get Unique registration Id. User has to enter this id in the registration field on mobile app, this will help the app to start function as expected.

4. While this app is in beta testing phase, In case there is any life threatening/SOS situation please ensure that you visit/get in touch with nearest police station and dial police helpline number 100.
