El 2 de mayo de 1802 a las 17:41 horas, mientras se llevaban a cabo excavaciones constantes en las famosas catacumbas de Santa Priscila, en la Vía Salaria de Roma, se encontró una cripta sellada con tres losas de terracota que cerraban la entrada; estaba rodeada de símbolos que aludían al martirio y a la virginidad de la persona ahí enterrada; los símbolos eran: ancla, tres flechas, una palma y una flor. Llevaban la inscripción «Lumena — Pax Te — Cum Fi».
