Version 2.0.6 App is now smaller.
This is not the latest version of the free Illinois Wildflowers app. You probably want the latest version which is called "Illinois Wildflowers".
This not-for-profit app contains descriptions and photographs of over 1,200 plants that grow in Illinois. A search feature helps you quickly find plants by allowing you to enter plant characteristics such as plant habitat, flower color and time of observation. Select the plants that you see to automatically build a plant list.
The plant descriptions come from Dr. John Hilty's "Illinois Wildflowers" website, at www.illinoiswildflowers. Over the last 15 years Dr. Hilty has compiled excellent plant descriptions. Each plant description includes photographs, a detailed Description, information about Cultivation, Range & Habitat, Faunal Associations, a Distribution Map and Comments.
The plants are divided into three groups. The Wildflower group consists of 894 plants and is further divided into Prairie, Savanna, Woodland, Wetland and Weedy plants. The Tree group includes 169 plants that are trees, shrubs or woody vines. The Plants without Flowers group includes over 200 plants that are ferns, grasses, sedges, rushes and a clubmoss.
