About One Planet York Android App
If everyone used the same resources as the average UK citizen, we’d need 3 planets to support us, when we only have one. This is not sustainable living. York’s ambition is to become a leading low waste city, using the One Planet York sustainability principles.
This app helps citizens, visitors and businesses within York to reduce, re-use and recycle. The planet points systems allows users to recognise their individual efforts and measure their contribution against others across the city.
The app includes:
- Barcode scanner to assist recycling
- Alerts users when their next bin collection is due
- Area for exchanging unwanted items and produce
- Map of city recycle points
- Earn points each time you recycle or trade and become a one planet champion!
