The OpenMobileNetwork is an open platform that provides approximated and semantically enriched mobile network and WiFi access point topology data published as Linked Data in RDF format. In compliance with the principles of Linked Data, many interlinks to other Linking Open Data (LOD) Cloud datasets, such as Linked Crowdsourced Data, LinkedGeoData, or DBpedia, enable various applications ranging from Semantic Location-based Services to a sophisticated Power Management in Mobile Networks.
OpenMobileNetwork for Android (OMNApp) is a background service that collects static mobile network data (e.g., Cell-ID, LAC, or GPS coordinates) and also acquires dynamic measurement data (e.g., total data traffic produced on smartphones or service usage information) in order to enable the modeling and visualization of the current and historic state of the network.
By using this app, you contribute with your data in building an open dataset for mobile networks within the OpenMobileNetwork research project. Please have a look at: http://www.openmobilenetwork.org/
